About me

I’m Clair and I’m a friendly and caring disabled female Tattoo Artist working at Degenerate Art Studios in Rugeley, Staffordshire in the U.K.

I’m fully insured and licensed for tattooing procedures. I have an enhanced DBS criminal record check and first aid trained for your safety and peace of mind.

I’m married with a fabulously talented musical husband, young daughter and giant fluffy doggy Rufus - who makes lots of appearances in my social media stories, and in my day to day chats.

I’m continually striving to grow, learn and develop as a tattoo artist to provide the best experience and tattoo that I can.

I love to tattoo imagery that helps you to feel something special, to mark an important moment, occasion or person.

I like to specialise in tattoos with characters and subjects that resonate with my colourful and fun style - Kawaii, Anime, Disney, Pokemon, Cartoons, Gaming, Popculture and anything cute.

I love working in a bold colourful style or a sketchy style in black and grey or with colour and watercolour influences.

I love to design your tattoos to help you reclaim ownership of your body and celebrate who you are.

No matter the size all tattoos matter to me and I will do my best to create a tattoo that is special for you!

I do also love to tattoo in a variety of styles and I will always be open and honest with you when discussing your tattoo requirements and ideas, as to whether I’m a good fit for your tattoo piece.

Before I found tattooing I was a secondary school teacher, where I taught a number of subjects under the Design Technology umbrella. This was whilst trying to keep my hand in with my fine art career, creating art to sell and working within arts education outside of schools- working in galleries, museums and running arts workshops.

I specialised in installation art, painting and sculpture and liked to exhibit mixed media exhibitions and create paintings for commercial sales.

Teaching didn’t leave me much room for my arts career and although I genuinely love to teach, I found myself increasingly unhappy with working in such a pressured, bureaucratic system, which I didn’t necessarily believe really suited many young people.

After suffering an injury at work and it causing further ill health it became clear to me that full time teaching wasn’t the best thing for my health and well-being as a disabled person.

This led me down the path of exploring what else I really wanted to do with my life - tattooing just seemed like such a natural fit for my skills, experiences and love of art and although it’s been my biggest challenge in life to change career and start again I’m truly grateful and feel very blessed to be able to tattoo for a living.
